The Pink Toothbrush says "CHECK THIS VU VU VULTURES VIDEO"

VU VU VULTURES release new single "I'll Cut You" on Popular recordings and us at the Pink Toothbrush think this is quite possibly the best thing we have heard in a long time

I'll Cut You - Vuvuvultures (Official Video) from Popular TV on Vimeo.

London-based Vuvuvultures (VVV) have been swiftly yet subtly building momentum since their conception in 2011, having developed into a cult-status live band, VVV take over warehouses and host multi-faceted collective parties called ‘The Island’. From the self-made artwork, to half of east-London rocking the synonymous symbol t shirts; from the weird and wonderful videos, to the semi-nude, paint-drenched performances, VVV have established themselves as one of the most creative and innovative bands to emerge in the past year. With support from 6music, XFM and Amazing Radio, ‘I’ll Cut You’ is taken from the brilliant ‘VVV EP’ released earlier this year (5* from Artrocker, “suavely seductive”). The EP deftly represents the ease and variance of songwriting and production that the band execute - acting as an impressive taster for this first standalone single. VVV have been featured in BEAT, 1883, Vogue, Wonderland, as well as a whole host of tastemaker fashion and music blogs such as The Recommender, “…they have some fresh ideas and lots of style. This isn’t just another guitar band. Introducing the dangerously beautiful and charismatic frontwoman, Harmony Boucher, who leads from the front, which is an essential ingredient”. JUNE 17th – ECLAF, Village Underground, LDN 22nd – Magnet Club, BERLIN 27th – Oporto, LEEDS 28th – Trof, MANCHESTER 29th – Bungalow & Bears, SHEFFIELD 30th – Oakford Social Club, READING JULY 01st - DV8, YORK 07th – SINGLE LAUNCH / The Island, TBA 13th – Atlantico Live, ROME 14th – Lottarox Summer Festival, ITALY By creating, working and living together, VVV have become a close unit; though unlike many of their London musical-peers, each member brings an individual musical taste and outlook from their native countries and past experiences. Fronted by Australian-born model, Harmony Boucher, the band formed upon a chance meeting with Brazilian bassist, Nicole Marie Bettencourt Coelho; one rehearsal later with South Africans Paul Ressel (guitar, production) and Matthew Christensen (drums), and Vuvuvultures was born.

something dark from the brush

Blink-182 cancel tour

Blink-182 have cancelled a number of North American tour dates after drummer Travis Barker had to undergo an emergency operation. The pop-punks are rescheduling a small number of the dates, but have pulled the vast majority as Barker needs an urgent tonsillectomy. According to a statement on the band's official website, his recovery period "is expected to extend beyond the scheduled tour dates". The statement said: "The band apologises for any inconvenience as a result of these cancelations and thanks their fans for their ongoing support." There is currently no word on whether Barker's condition will affect the trio's UK and Ireland tour, which is due to kick off at Birmingham's NIA in less than a month (June 7). The jaunt also includes dates in Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle and Glasgow, along with two nights at London's O2 Arena. The tour has already been rescheduled once before after originally being pencilled in for last July. The dates were pushed back in order to allow the band to finish their latest album, 2011's 'Neighborhoods'. Earlier this year, the band revealed they're already working on the follow-up to the album, with frontman Mark Hoppus stating he'd been writing new songs while out on the road with his side-project Angels and Airwaves.

ARCTIC MONKEYS EXCLUSIVE TRACK

Arctic Monkeys have debuted their new track 'Electricity' online, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to hear it now. The track will be released as the B-Side to the band's new single 'R U Mine?' on special purple vinyl for this Saturday's (April 21) Record Store Day. The band have spoken recently about the follow-up to their fourth studio album 'Suck It And See' and drummer Matt Helders has said that the Sheffield rockers are keen to continue writing material in the vein of 'R U Mine?' and recent B-Side 'Evil Twin' for their next LP. He said of this: "The way 'R U Mine?' has gone we are more into doing songs like that for now. We are kind of into the idea of doing a record that is like 'Evil Twin' and 'R U Mine?'." The band are in the midst of a lengthy stint across the USA and Canada as support to The Black Keys on their US arena tour and will make their second appearance at Coachella festival this weekend.

DEFTONES RETURN !!!!!

Deftones plan to return to the recording studio in July this year to record their seventh studio album.

The band recently revealed that the album, which they promise will be 'futuristic', is already written - and now just needs to be recorded.

"I know everybody says this, but I believe this is the best record we've made," frontman Chino Moreno tells Latercera magazine. "I'm very enthusiastic, because it sounds futuristic in comparison to our last one, so it feels like a step forward.

"The songs are very different from each other, not heavier or slower, but more dynamic, going towards several directions; it's heavy, but beautiful."

He also spoke to the magazine about the current situation with Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who has been in a semi-conscious state since his involvement in a car accident in 2008.

"Every day is different, and he keeps on fighting. It's been three years already, and he's making small advancements, daily, but he can't speak or communicate," Moreno added. "Sometimes he can follow small instructions, like lifting a leg or a hand, so we wish for the best and maintain hope. But no doctor can predict when he's going to wake up."
